Consortium partners will actively work for 16 months (from 1 November 2009 to 28 February 2011) to organise four roundtable discussions/debates on three actions of the "European Partnership for the anticipation of change in the automotive industry":
· Mobility, quality of life and societal demands (2 debates)
· Impact of regulatory changes (1 debate)
· Integration of the supply chain (1 debate).
Roundtable discussions/debates will involve authoritative representatives from the industry (both car manufacturers and suppliers), the trade unions, national and regional authorities, European institutions and environmental groups to work towards a joint understanding of the examined trends. These debates will involve around 250 people each and will take place in Brussels. The project manager, in consultation with the steering group, may nevertheless decide to organise one or more of these debates in another European capital city, if CLEPA and EMF members consider that this could better reach the goals of the action.
In order to achieve the objectives of the project and prepare the four roundtable discussions/debates, the consortium partners shall carry out the following activities:
· They will produce a background paper summarising the latest trends and development in the chosen fields to fuel the internal debate within CLEPA and EMF
· An awareness campaign will be launched before and during the 12-month duration of the project
· A steering group will be formed and will regularly meet to discuss results from the internal debates to prepare the public events
· A chairperson will be appointed for each debate
· At the end of each debate, conclusions will be issued and published.
All results will be disseminated during and after the end of the project on Co-operation and dissemination) and will be incorporated in the work programme of the partners.

European Partnership for the Anticipation of Change in the Automotive Sector
The European partnership for anticipation of change was launched in October 2007 on the occasion of the Automotive Restructuring Forum organised by the European Commission. Its aim was to bring the car manufacturers and automotive suppliers to work together with the trade unions with a view to better anticipate the changes taking place in the industry thus contributing to the sustainability of the European automobile industry.
This 12-month project was launched in 2008 to investigate the main drivers behind change in the automotive sector and the mechanisms that should be implemented to anticipate and manage it in a socially responsible way. Read more
